Art has always been a constant in my life, as vital as the air I breathe. I’ve been working at my craft for more than fifty years and my portfolio includes works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, stained glass and painting on glass.

As a child growing up in Butte, Montana my siblings and I would use newsprint paper, crayons and pencils to "out draw" each other, not in the old west gunslinger sense but in an art sense.

After graduating high school I moved to Denver, Colorado where I worked, got married and raised two amazing sons--my ultimate art project. During this time art took a back seat to my beautiful family, but I still managed to fill that artistic urge by taking art classes and painting at my kitchen table in any spare time I had. Once my children were grown, I refocused on a variety of mediums to express myself. And although I entered art shows and won a few awards, I was still searching for that perfect medium to provide the challenge and joy I dreamed of.

Watercolor is that medium. It is crisp, clean, vibrant and very challenging. For the past sixteen years I’ve been developing my own style and now that I’m retired, I have both the time and the space in my own studio-- no more kitchen tables-- to devote to painting. I’m intrigued by the detail in things, ( a kind way of saying obsessive) like finding the exact color of a shadow on the snow or trying to capture that unique personality of a pet.

I love painting animals, flowers, houses, planes, trains or automobiles--whatever is special to you, whether a current pet or a beloved memory from your past. The most rewarding part of what I do is hearing how much joy one of my paintings has brought to someone’s life.

It’s easy to commission a special piece of art that you can treasure for yourself or someone you love. Just check out my website on how!
